Plan your visit
If this is the first time you are visiting Tekniska, you might want to know what to expect when you arrive at the museum and how accessible it is. This page provides information to help you prepare for your visit.
In general, our busiest time is around noon. If you’d prefer a more relaxed visit, we recommend coming in the afternoon or evening. Don’t forget that we’re open until 9:00 p.m. every day – after 4:00 p.m., there are usually fewer visitors in the building.

Service area – picnic, lockers and toilets
We have a picnic area where you can eat your lunch in a pleasant environment. The picnic area also has microwave ovens and a coffee machine, should you like to buy freshly brewed coffee.
There are also toilets and lockers, where you can store your coats and large bags. You will find the service areas directly to the left of the entrance.
Toilets are available on all floors. RWC is available in the service area, in the restaurant and in the MegaMind exhibition.
Accessibility
Are you visiting the museum with, for example, a stroller, walker or wheelchair? At the main entrance, there are wide ramps with 2.5 degree slope and a lift for electric wheelchairs. Inside the building, there is an elevator connecting all floors.
Wheelchair accessible WCs and baby changing tables are located close to the main entrance (3.2 x 2.2 metres), the restaurant (3.3 x 2.2 metres) and in MegaMind’s entrance hall (3.4 x 2.4 metres).
We have a limited number of pushchairs/strollers, baby carriers and wheelchairs that you can borrow. Talk to the staff at the Information Desk.
Parking for visitors with special permits
Just outside the museum’s main entrance, there are parking spaces available for visitors with special parking permits.
Good to know…
…if you’re wearing shoes with studs
If you visit us wearing shoes with steel studs in the outsole – so-called “ICEBUGS” – you will be denied entry to Trähallen, and therefore also to Wisdome, because these shoes cause wear and tear on the floor.
